Jalissah Stanton

Associate Attorney

She/Her/Hers

I joined Walters Gilbreath, PLLC as an associate in the fall of 2026, returning to the firm after clerking during law school. I’ve always been drawn to work that puts me directly alongside people, and family law gives me the chance to guide clients through some of the hardest moments of their lives and make a real difference in where they land.

My path to the law wasn’t a straight line. After graduating high school in Maryland in 2020, I earned my associate’s degree in Social Sciences in just one year, then moved to Dallas to attend Paul Quinn College as a Presidential Scholar on a full scholarship. A mentor there saw a future lawyer before I did. I went on to graduate as valedictorian with a B.A. in Political Science in 2023 and earned my J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law.

What brought me to WG was the culture and its people, who are experienced attorneys that care deeply about the quality of their work and the clients they serve. I’m a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the J.L. Turner Legal Association.

Outside the office, I’m always planning my next adventure. I’ve hiked to Machu Picchu, gone skydiving, and love ziplining, snorkeling, cave tubing, and trying new restaurants. Bungee jumping is next on my list.
