My interest in practicing law started in my teenage years watching Law & Order, but it wasn’t until my time in the Protective Order section at the El Paso County Attorney’s office that I realized the impact of having good counsel when dealing with the dissolution of a relationship. Having gone through my own divorce with two young children, I understand how important it is to have someone who can support you through the change and explain all the nuances of how that change can impact your family.
Our legal team at Walters Gilbreath will plan for the worst outcome, a full final trial, while attempting at every step of the process to obtain a resolution that is the least disruptive and combative to the parties. If you are getting a divorce or setting up a custody plan, your relationship with the other party doesn’t end, so keeping the process as smooth as possible sets the parties up to be able to communicate and co-parent in the future. As your attorney, I will never promise rainbows and unicorns, but I will show empathy and work to provide an unbiased view of whatever situation you find yourself while trying to resolve the case in the least confrontational and disruptive manner possible.
Outside the courtroom, I am an avid reader and obsessively listen to podcasts. My family and I enjoy yearly trips to national parks to spend time in nature. I am also a big sucker for animals and have two dogs, two cats and a tortoise.
